Before your Orlando fingerprinting visit
What to Bring for Live Scan Fingerprinting
Most visits are simple. Bring a valid photo ID and the ORI number or VECHS number provided by your employer or the state. This information helps connect your electronic fingerprints to the correct Florida background check request.
Your quick checklist
A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID.
Your ORI number or VECHS number, as provided by your employer or the state.
Any employer, licensing, school, healthcare, childcare, or state instruction sheet you received.
Your application, renewal notice, or other paperwork that explains the fingerprinting requirement.
A payment method for the fingerprinting service.
Where do I find my ORI or VECHS number?
Your employer, licensing organization, school, healthcare agency, childcare provider, or the state should provide the correct number and fingerprinting instructions. Look in your onboarding email, application packet, renewal notice, or agency portal. Do not guess the number.
What does VECHS mean?
VECHS refers to the Volunteer and Employee Criminal History System. A VECHS number identifies the participating organization or screening route for certain volunteer and employee background checks. The employer or state provides the correct VECHS information.
Why these numbers matter
The ORI number or VECHS number helps identify where your fingerprint-based background check should be routed and which purpose applies. 1SureScan captures your fingerprints electronically, but the requesting employer or state agency determines the correct number and screening instructions.
If you were not given an ORI number or VECHS number, contact the organization requesting your fingerprints before coming in. Bringing the complete instructions is the best way to avoid delays or an incorrectly routed submission.
1SureScan provides Florida Live Scan fingerprinting services. We do not provide federal fingerprinting or concealed weapon permit fingerprinting services.
